Group Consultation Meetings (GCM)
Director: Dan Short
This was an outgrowth of the Milton H. Erickson Institute of Phoenix. In 2025, they celebrated their 100th meeting. Now emphasizing international participatory experiences.
International Society of Hypnosis (ISH)
The International Society for Hypnosis is the world headquarters for researchers and clinicians interested in hypnosis. ISH serves as the umbrella and meeting place for its members and 22 (still growing) Constituent Societies from around the world.

ISH traces its roots to the first International Congress for Experimental and Therapeutic Hypnotism held in Paris in 1889 and is proud of its deep connections to such luminaries as Jean-Martin Charcot, Pierre Janet, Sigmund Freud, and Ernest Hilgard. Joining ISH provides many benefits. Perhaps the most important is enjoying the connection with other like-minded colleagues and discovering the support and intellectual stimulation of the hypnosis community.
American Society of Clinical Hypnosis (ASCH)
The American Society of Clinical Hypnosis (ASCH) was founded by Milton H. Erickson, MD in 1957. ASCH promotes greater acceptance of hypnosis as a clinical tool with broad applications. Today, ASCH offers professional hypnosis training workshops, certification, and networking opportunities that can enhance both professional and personal lives. ASCH is unique among organizations for professionals using hypnosis.

As an interdisciplinary organization, ASCH provides an opportunity to learn from and interact with colleagues in other health and mental health care disciplines. This allows for a cross-fertilization of ideas and applications that meshes neatly with current trends, such as mind-body health and integrative medicine. Regardless of whether you are a professional wanting to learn hypnosis, or a patient wanting help with a problem, take your time and enjoy the visit to our site.
Society for Clinical and Educational Hypnosis (SCEH)
The Society for Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis (SCEH) is an international association whose mission is to promote excellence and progress in hypnosis research, education, and clinical practice. A distinguishing feature of the Society is our emphasis on empirical inquiry and the evidence-base of hypnosis.
SCEH hypnosis training programs are scientifically based and recognized by professional schools (medical, dental, psychology, social work). We also offer hypnosis certification programs for both clinicians and researchers. Among SCEH member benefits are the International Journal of Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis (the Society's quarterly scholarly journal), a quarterly newsletter, networking, hypnosis resources, a mentorship program and book discounts.
European Society of Hypnosis
The European Society of Hypnosis (ESH) is a confederation of National Societies specialising in the use of hypnosis in the fields of medicine, dentistry, psychology, and psychotherapy.

Our mission is to promote the highest professional standard in the practice of hypnosis for clinical and experimental purposes. The commitment is to evaluate and elaborate the newest developments in professional hypnosis and to disseminate such information among members.
ESH was founded in 1976, when a group of European medical professionals including Dietrich Langen, Peo Olof Wikström and Marjan Pajntar, proposed the setting up of a European section of the International Society of Hypnosis (ISH). ESH became independent from ISH on 20 August 1990, when the ESH Constitution was ratified.

ESH presently consists of a large number of Constituent Societies from many Countries throughout Europe.
WhoISHwho Directory
The goal of the International Society of Hypnosis’s (ISH) whoISHwho project is to have information about the world’s leading clinical hypnosis professionals available on one platform.

This project includes information about hypnosis trained clinicians, scientists, educators, authors and researchers in the fields of Psychology, Medicine, and Dentistry.
We are collecting participants’ biosketches/CVs, photos, publication lists and, when relevant, their most recent presentations and workshops and making them available on this searchable platform.
